Types of Road Collisions

Vehicular collision accounts for a significant percentage of road accidents. Some accidents are due to a collision of a vehicle with another vehicle while others involve a crash with fixed objects and pedestrians. It is advisable to consult experienced motor vehicle accident lawyers if you are involved in a road collision accident. A skilled lawyer could help you file a successful compensation claim.

The consequences of a road collision accident can be severe and sometimes even fatal. Automobile drivers take the greatest share of fatality, which is borne out by the fact that 39% of the deaths include drivers.

Collision Accidents

There are several types of collisions based upon the direction of motion of the vehicle and the point of impact.

Head – Rear End

The front of a car or another vehicle may hit the rear end of a vehicle. There can be several reasons for the impact. The second vehicle could be following too close to the first and could have faulty brakes. The rear lights of the front vehicle could be inadequate or the glass could be dirty. The tyres of the following vehicle could be worn out.

Right Turn – Same Direction

This type of collision is due to bad road ethics followed by the driver of the turning vehicle. The driver might neglect to turn on the indicator lights, enter the main street without pausing, or turn suddenly in the face of an oncoming vehicle.

A similar type of collision is due to Left Turn – Same Direction.
